Chinese Deep Fried Crispy Squid (Chinese Cooking @ Home)

Welcome to Chinese Cooking. My name is Xiao Wei and my goal is to make your cooking simple and exciting. Ever since my Mother showed me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and learn new Chinese recipes.

Ingredients:
6 Medium Squids
1 Cup Plain Flour
2 Tsp Paparika
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
½ Tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 Tsp Dried Parsley
½ Tsp Turmeric Powder
2 Tsp Salt

Method:
1. Cut the squids into 1cm thick rings
2. Place the flour in a large mixing bowl
3. Add all the ingredients except squid in the bowl, mix well
4. Place the squid in the bowl, mix well for even coverage
5. Heat 1 litre of oil in the wok over medium heat
6. Shake off any excess flour, place squid rings into the wok, deep fry for 2 minutes – do not fry longer than 4 minutes
7. Remove and drain. Serve with Sweet Chilli sauce for dipping (Optional)
