Monsoon Special Healthy Breakfast Recipe – Corn Khichri/ Bhuttar khichuri

Ingredients

250g loose corn kernels (washed , then soaked in water for 30 Minutes and after that drained)
50g red lentil (washed , then soaked in water for 30 Minutes and after that drained)
1 medium fried potato (6 pieces)
3 fried pointed gourd (6 pieces)
1/4 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 bay leaves
1 dry red chili
1/2 tsp 5 spices
2 medium onion slices
1 tbsp chopped ginger
4 chopped green chilies
6 small onions (whole)
2 tbsp mustard oil
1 tsp ghee

How to

Heat mustard oil in a pan
Flame on medium
Add dry red chili, bay leaves, 5 spices
Add onion slices
Fry well till it changes into golden brown colour
Now add masoor daal/ red lentil
Saute
Add chopped ginger
Chopped green chilies
Add salt, turmeric powder
Add corn kernels
Saute
Add 4.5 cups of water
Flame on high
If started boiling, add fried pointed gourd pieces, whole small onions, fried potato pieces
Mix all well
Cover it on less medium flame
If all veggies and corn kernels are boiled completely, then flame on simmer.
Add sugar, garam masala powder, ghee
Mix all well
Ready to serve
