Sheera | Sooji Halwa | Indian Desert Recipe | Rava Sheera

Ingredients:
• Ghee – 3-4 tbsp.
• Rava/semolina/sooji – ½ cup.
• Dry fruits – 2 tbsp.
• Water – 1 ½ cup.
• Jaggery/Sugar – ½ cup.
• Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp.

Method:
• In a heavy bottomed pan add ghee. Let it melt and add semolina. Roast it for about 10 minutes on low heat.
• When rava starts changing color add dry fruits. Do not over roast the dry fruits.
• Once rava turns reddish and aromatic add boiling hot water to it.
• Mix well and take care that no lumps of rava are formed.
• Then close the lid and let the rava simmer for 5 minutes on low heat.
• Be careful not to burn the rava.
• After 5 minutes add jaggery and mix well until jaggery dissolves completely .
• Add cardamom powder and stir well. And turn off the heat.
• Sheera/Sanja is ready. Serve it hot.
